This paper examines the concept and historical context of Darūriyyāt al-Dīn (the Necessities of Religion) within Islamic theology. It argues that Islam is founded upon both doctrinal and practical essentials whose denial constitutes deviation from faith. The study categorizes these essentials into general necessities, recognized by all Muslims, and specific necessities, comprehended primarily by scholars. It further analyzes the juridical and theological implications of rejecting these tenets, distinguishing between deliberate denial and ignorance. Through a comparative exploration of Qur’anic and Biblical texts, the research establishes that the doctrines of Monotheism, Prophethood and the Hereafter — central to Islam’s necessary beliefs — are consistent with the foundational truths of earlier revealed religions. The paper concludes that Darūriyyāt al-Dīn represent the universal and immutable principles upon which the moral and spiritual edifice of all divine religions rests.

‘Unacceptable interpretation’ means an interpretation in which the word, the speaker, and the possibility of the speaker contradict each other. Therefore, scholars of interpretation and researchers declare takfir only in such cases, while in addition to these, there are 26 cases in which they refrain from declaring takfir. Also, for a fundamental and detailed study of the chapter on interpretation, it is very useful to study the books “Qanun al-Tawil” and “Faisal al-Tafriqa” by Hujjat al-Islam Imam al-Ghazali (d. 505 AH) and “Faisal al-Tafriqa”.
