This study examines the practical implementation, legal awareness and social perception of women’s inheritance rights in Lasbela district, Balochistan. Islamic Sharia clearly grants women a definitive share in inheritance, firmly supported by Quranic injections and Prophetic traditions. However, in Pakistani society, particularly in rural and tribal regions, women are frequently deprived of their rightful inheritance due to entrenched social norms and local traditions. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, incorporating interviews with women, religious scholars, lawyers and local community leaders in Lasbela. Findings reveals that, although Pakistani law formally recognizes women’s inheritance rights, practical barriers including tribal pressures, social stigma, lack of legal literacy and limited access to judicial remedies prevent women from fully exercising these rights. The study highlights that while legal enforcement in Labella is possible, the primary obstacle is the lack of social awareness campaigns led jointly by government agencies, universities, legal practitioners and religious authorities could significantly enhance the protection and realization of women’s inheritance rights. This research contribute not only safeguarding women’s shariah-based and legal rights but also to promoting social justice and the rule of law in marginalized communities.
