Abstract

There is no religion or act of law in the world, wherein, there is no worth of human life and killing of human beings is not considered a crime. In the Holy Quran the rules for Qisas (an equal retributory punishment as inflicted) and Diyat (paying the legal heirs compensation for the life lost or badly injury inflicted) are clearly rejected, also, there are practical examples present in seerat-un-nabi (life of prophet Muhammad pbuh) for guidance. Similarly, Bible has also pondered on the same issue but among all religions, Islam has given more prestige and value to human life. The topic under discussion, “Comparative study of rules regarding Qisas and Diyat in the light of Quran and Bible” will present a comparative study of the values and regulations pertaining to Qisas and Diyat, in the light of Quran and Bible.
