Moral and Ethical Training of contemporary Muslim Youth: An Analytical Study in the Light of Seerah al-Nabawiyyah

Abstract

The younger generation constitutes the most valuable asset and future of any society. In the contemporary era, while the digital revolution, globalization, and social media have created unprecedented opportunities, they have simultaneously exposed youth to severe ethical decline, intellectual confusion, depression, purposelessness, and materialism. These challenges have led to acute psychological and social stress among young people. This research paper aims to present the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a comprehensive practical model for the moral, psychological, and spiritual training of youth. Adopting an interpretive-analytical methodology, the study draws upon the Holy Qur’an, authentic Hadith collections, and classical works of Seerah. The findings reveal that the Prophet’s ﷺ qualities of Sabr (patience and resilience), Sidq and Amanah (truthfulness and trustworthiness), Tawakkul (trust in Allah), and a balanced lifestyle provide a complete coping mechanism for today’s youth. The paper concludes that integrating the Prophetic training model into educational curricula, family systems, and state policies can effectively address the moral crisis of the younger generation. The Seerah is not merely a historical narrative but a living code of life for contemporary challenges.
